In 2016, Goglio S.p.A. needed an economical, sustainable solution for producing plastic parts with multiple colors for different machines in low volume, explained Olivier Gallati, the Goglio Machine Development Manager. Goglio produces a variety of machines for packaging coffee, food, and industrial products.
The challenge becomes customizing each machine to customer needs. “We tried to use injection molding, but to justify the costs, production volumes were too high,” continued Gallati. Therefore, Goglio pursued 3D printing as a solution for production parts.
After much study, Goglio selected 3ntr industrial 3D printers based on 3ntr’s deep 3D printing knowledge and the machine’s low production costs. Today, 3ntr printed parts are in every machine produced by Goglio. “Since we started them the first time, we practically haven’t turned them off,” notes Gallati.
