Site visits are the best. Recently, we visited PMT and they had a great reminder on their 3ntr machine: do a nozzle clean on Fridays. Key to any industrial operation is regular maintenance. 3D printers thrive on a clean nozzle free of debris. Regular cleaning means more consistent performance, smooth surface finishes, and accurate dimensions.
How do you know when it is time to change the nozzle?
Compare it to a new one. The above picture shows a new brass nozzle compared to an older one. Compare the diameter of the left nozzle to the right and you can see a noticeably larger hole. In prints, most users notice blobbing, stringing, or inaccuracies. To prevent issues, regularly clean and replace nozzles according to printer usage.
